Update - March 2023

Stacks Image 5993
Today, I spent the morning with around 150 Ukrainian people, it was a spiritual, social, food bank and many other things to help make their life a little better here in the UK. The joy I had in talking with people about Our Saviour and giving them Bibles in their own language and also the booklet The Missing Peace. Many good contacts were made, and the follow-up work will begin in three weeks.
Why three weeks? I leave for Serbia on Wednesday 15th, a heavy programme plus spending time in the refugee camp, thank you for your prayers. Two weeks ago I heard a lovely story of a man travelling on a ferry to Ireland, in the restaurant while having coffee, a man came and sat with him, and he just want to know more about God. A Muslim overheard the conversation, and he too wanted to know more. God answers Prayer – Thank you for your prayers – Brother Tony.

Feb 2023 Update

Dear Prayer Warriors around the world, thank you for your continued prayers and interest in the work of Global Passion and other groups that we are associated with.

In the Balkans, January is quite a quiet month with snow and temperatures dropping to below zero but more on that in a moment. I had the privilege to spend January in the warmer climates of Australia visiting my son and his family, relaxing, swimming and recharging my batteries (as we say here in England) and returning home refreshed. It was a wonderful time but the work in the Balkans and Worldwide, was never far from my thoughts, my heart and my prayers.

Catching up with all that has been going on has been encouraging and seeing many answers to prayer. Through the winter the programme for a Gospel In every Home has continued and many people are requesting more literature. The unsaved are making contact and want to know more, Praise the Lord

We praise God that the booklet The Missing Peace is now printed in Russian and Ukrainian and available here in the UK.  Also a large amount will be printed in Russian and Ukrainian in Europe.

Please continue to pray for the Balkans, it has been in the news a great deal lately and the situation is still quite volatile. But we continue with His guiding Hand and go forth in His Name. God bless you where ever you are, Brother Tony.

Happy New Year

Stacks Image 5968
May I take this opportunity of wishing you a Happy New Year, Philippians 3 verses 12 - 14 is very real to me right now at the beginning of this New Year. In 2022, we saw many answers to prayer in the Balkans, indeed great answers to pray which have encouraged me to pray for greater things for 2023. We Praise God that the booklet The Missing Peace came off the printing press in Russian and Ukrainian in time for Christmas here in the UK for use in the Avonmouth and Royal Portbury docks. Already these booklets have gone out, and we are praying for God’s blessing on those who are reading them. Today, I leave for Australia to see my family there but will keep you up with any news from the Balkans and Beyond. Praying for you all. God Bless - Tony

O M 60th Anniversary

Stacks Image 5907
As Operation Mobilisation celebrates its 60th anniversary, I too celebrate 60 years of knowing George Verwer. It was at a meeting in Belmont Chapel, Exeter, Devon on the 1st December 1962 when George was sharing a very radical message on reaching Europe for Christ. It was so radical that no one really wanted to speak with George afterwards but, I felt God saying ‘go and speak with George’, I did and it was a meeting that changed my life for ever……

Lidia Bormann (Lidia Parra Sanchez)

Stacks Image 5869
Lidia went to be with her Saviour early on Monday morning after much suffering. Please pray for David and the family at this time. They moved to Trieste not long after they were married in Spain, to work among the Yugoslavians, I had the joy of living with them in 1965 and through them, became involved in the outreach to the Balkan countries and beyond. David and Lidia were such a great inspiration and mentors to me, not only while I lived with them but unto this day. They worked so faithfully for Our Lord and Saviour and their vision for the Balkan countries continues to this day. Thanking God for you, David and Lidia in obeying His call and serving Him so faithfully. I close with Philippians 3 v 10, 'That I may know Christ and the power of His resurrection', This certainly showed in your lives.

Serbia Report

Stacks Image 5851
Dear Praying friends around the world, thank you for your faithfulness. This past month we have seen so much answer to prayer, it thrills my heart and causes me to believe God for bigger and greater things. Please give Him all the Thanks, Praise and Glory – God Bless you. A week ago it was time to say goodbye to Serbia, so I took the Pastor and his wife and another key worker and family out for a meal. He is giving up a very good job and going into full time service from January 1st 2023, his name Boban, please remember him and family in your prayers. My last Sunday here and we visited a small church, Boban preached and then asked me to share. In that meeting was the younger brother of my dear friend Simo (now with the Lord) he was so delighted and afterwards kept hugging me with tears in our eyes. Maybe, in January I will write a report about Simo Ralevic. Thank you all again for your prayers, this truly was a remarkable visit - Tony.

Today it was a great honour and privilege to see Rachel and Ana being baptised. I have known Ana for a number of years and seen her grow in the love of Our Lord. Although I didn’t know Rachel until today, I had received sound reports about her. Let us uphold these two young people as they continue to walk the path of faith, also remember all young people as they Walk the Walk and Talk the Talk. These are the results and answers to your prayers - Thank you - God Bless, Tony.

Greetings from Sid, Serbia

Stacks Image 5789
Greetings from Sid, Serbia. Sunday 23rd October. After speaking at a Methodist Church I was invited to a BBQ by some of the members, they were lorry drivers and can spend up to six weeks away from home. This was their free weekend and they came to church, it’s an amazing story. Years ago they were in the criminal world and one entered a church in Beograd, Serbia and after a few weeks, found Jesus as his Saviour. He moved North to Sid and invited others to church, they to gave their lives to Jesus. This was a wonderful time of fellowship and they wanted to know more how they can reach out to other lorry drivers across Europe. We are giving them all the literature they need to do this. For two hours we just talked about the love of God. Next report will show team workers in other Balkan countries. Thank you for your prayers, this is being a remarkable journey, Praying God’s Blessings upon you all - Tony

Update from Serbia

Stacks Image 5774
It’s been wonderful to work alongside the team here in Sid Serbia, in the refugee camp. Some of the team spend their day working in the laundry, others serving tea and coffee and others spending time with the refugees playing games. This leads to them explaining why are doing this and this is where we bring the gospel to them comes in. After a few days of the team speaking with two people, I had the joy of leading them to Jesus.

We have countless conversations with the refugees and the seed is being sown, please pray that others will reap the harvest, many reports have come back to us of those finding Salvation in another country. Sunday was a great day, I spoke at a Methodist church in Sid and God spoke, more on that later. Please, please continue to pray for all refugees everywhere and those that work with them. Thank you, brother Tony.

2022 Project - UPDATE!

Stacks Image 5759
Dear Prayer Partners around the world, thank you for your faithfulness in praying for this project. Originally, we were looking at the end of October to purchase this house but mid September I felt God saying, believe me for the end of September. So I asked the Lord for a gift to come in each day of the last week of September and this happened but on the Friday there was a postal strike and my heart sank. Then I went into my bank account and there was a bank transfer for Friday. We are not quite there yet due to the fall in the pound sterling but our God is great.

I called the team to start the purchase procedure on Saturday 1st October, as he was going to see the owner, she arrived with a big FOR SALE to be put up. He told her there was no need for that and when she heard what we wanted to use it for she cried for joy and gave him the keys. The neighbours around the house and church soon heard the news and they all offered to help clean the place up.

I leave for Serbia on the 14th for a month and will be spending two weeks in the refugee camp.

Our God is so good, so join with us (the Serbian Christians) and give Him all the Praise, Thanks and Glory for this remarkable answer to prayer.

Thank you for standing with us in Prayer, you too are part of this team.

These are a few abstracts from testimonies from the young people of Summer Camp.
The subject for the week was on the life of Daniel.

Encouraging news from Austria

Antonio came to faith in Christ about two years ago by watching YouTube videos created by different English speaking evangelists and he quickly developed a passion for evangelism. First he thought there were no Austrian believers who share their faith online or publicly. A friend of ours serving with another mission stumbled upon him and asked if I would get in touch with him, this was early 2022. Since then I have been in touch frequently via WhatsApp and phone. Antonio has visited our outreach team in Linz twice so far. I will visit him and his home church in the south of Austria in the middle of August. I want to invest in him as we see great potential in him becoming an evangelist. - Stefan Hoefler.

(From Tony Packer – I thought this would be encouraging to you all that prayers are being answered. Let us continue to pray for all outreaches going on this summer.)

Breaking News – For Uganda

Stacks Image 5694
10,000 copies of The Missing Peace Booklet are now ready to be shipped to Uganda, they will be leaving in a few days time, I'll keep you updated when they arrive. I have now returned from Serbia and I am so excited in all that God is doing there. The adrenaline is still running fast after seeing the growth in the churches and also the spiritual growth. I want you to join with me in Thanking and Praising God for answered prayer, also to thank you for your prayers and support not only for Serbia but for other countries God lays on your hearts. My health held up and I managed to get some swimming in which was also good for my hip and I was careful in the many other things I did. I left Serbia with sadness and tears and a heavy heart but rejoicing knowing that this work will continue. August is a month that I spend with my family as there are so many birthday celebrations and the promotion of my dear wife Rita to glory 10 years ago on the 10th, also my own 80th birthday on 8th. Nevertheless, I shall be keeping in contact with Serbia and beyond and keep you posted. In His Love – Brother Tony.

Betal Camp -  “Fruska Gora” Mountain, Near Novi Sad

Stacks Image 5665
A while ago I asked for prayer for the summer camps here in Serbia and also worldwide. I am very excited to tell you that your prayers are being answered and here, in Serbia we are seeing the fruits of prayer.

Last night I attended a camp for 10 - 12 year olds, Stefan shared the Word and on our way home, a telephone call came through to say three boys had given their lives to Our Saviour. Later another call to say two others had also come to the leaders asking for prayer and making a commitment, these will all be followed up after camp.

Another thing that excited me, was to see people from previous camps going on for the Lord and now becoming leaders. We have so much to rejoice about. Please continue to pray for all camps everywhere that we will see more lives changed. Give Him Thanks and Praise and pray for greater things. I trust that this will encourage you on in your prayer and church life. In His Love - Tony
